Judith Taylor: June 2, 1957 – January 10, 2010


Judith Taylor’s photographs and photogenic drawings have been shown in exhibitions at The Philadelphia Museum of Art (PA), Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site (Philadelphia, PA), Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (Wilmington, DE), The Visual Studies Workshop (Rochester, NY), Temple Gallery (Philadelphia, PA), Beaver College Art Gallery (PA), The Royal Hibernian Gallery (Dublin, Ireland), Nexus Gallery (Philadelphia, PA), The Aldridge Museum of Contemporary Art (Ridgefield, CT), The Houston Center for Photography (TX), Moore College of Art (Philadelphia, PA), The James A. Michener Art Museum (PA), The Allentown Art Museum (PA), Mason Gross School of the Arts (New Brunswick, NJ), and Swarthmore College (PA).

She was a recipient of fellowships from The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, The Independence Foundation and The Leeway Foundation. Her work in photography is included in the collections of The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Neuberger Museum of Art, The Allentown Art Museum, The State Museum of Pennsylvania, The Museum of the Rhode Island School of Design, Bryn Mawr College, Lehigh University, and the corporate collections of Johnson & Johnson and Price/Waterhouse. She received her MFA in photography from The Rhode Island School of Design after having completed a BA in studio art at The Pennsylvania State University. She was a Professor of Photography in the Department of Art & Design at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA, and held an appointment to the Evelyn and Frank Streinbrucker Endowed Chair.
